Chef To You is a 360 degree chef service. This means we offer a wide variety of services related to great food and incredible experiences. From in home dinners that blow away your guests to cooking classes that are not only educational but also an amazing good time.
We offer private dining experiences for up to 24 people (that number is NOT set in stone), that include our team bringing the equipment and china, we cook and serve the meal and clean up afterwards like nothing ever happened in your kitchen; we specialize in custom catering for small to medium sized events (the type of events that other catering companies say are "too small" for them); cooking classes at your location or on Zoom that are designed to be inspirational and educational along with delicious and fun; personal chef home meal planning that gives busy professionals a break from weekly cooking duties and lets you spend more time enjoying life with your family and less time shopping and cooking; lastly but not leastly live events where you can come out to meet our chefs and bakers in person at various events from grill demos to bake sales at your favorite gourmet stores.
Chef John started his culinary journey at 14 years old, washing dishes and bussing tables. At 15 he moved up to making pizzas and by 18 he was a closing manager and could prepare every dish on the menu. He spent the next 7 years travelling from restaurant to restaurant, learning his craft from a variety of excellent chefs. At 25 he accepted his first “executive chef” position. And over the next 20+ years he has prepared meals for two presidents, one first lady, several world diplomats and handfuls of famous athletes and musicians. In his career he has been an executive chef, personal chef for a sorority house, resident chef at an art museum, has written a cookbook, worked as the director of training for a company and most recently as the resident culinary instructor with a national culinary store chain. Chef has a Bachelor’s Degree and in his spare time loves to work in his carpentry shop.
Chef John is well versed in cuisine from all over the world. His favorites include: French, Jamaican, Korean, Italian, Spanish, German, Japanese, Mexican and American Regional Specialties.
When asked what his favorite meal is, he will usually answer: “Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Pigeon Peas, Coconut Rice…” (he really does love the pirate life).
